State Health Commissioner Kristina Box said she is studying how to find enough people to conduct what is known as contact tracing, a public health technique for slowing the spread of a virus.
The Indiana State Department of Health on Sunday said the number of presumptive positive cases for COVID-19 in the state has risen to 11,210, following the emergence of 569 more cases. Otterbein officials said 61 residents have been tested at the facility, resulting in 28 positive COVID-19 cases.
Officials also said 118 employees or contractors at the facility have been tested, resulting in 20 positive tests (16 employees, four contractors). An increased number of Hoosiers are dying at home, possibly because they fear going to a hospital and getting infected by the coronavirus, state officials said Wednesday.
It also reported 61 new deaths, the largest number of deaths reported by the department in a daily report since the beginning of the pandemic.
